about BLR
The company may be new.
The experience isn't.
Meet John Berhanu
After 20 years in the roofing industry, John decided to build a business around the standards he believes roofing should be held to.
Clear advice. Fair pricing. Proper workmanship. Respect for customers and colleagues. And no shortcuts simply because nobody is looking.
That's the kind of roofing company he wanted to build.
Having worked alongside some of the best people in the industry, John has spent two decades learning the trade from the ground up — from traditional roofing work through to modern systems and specialist flat roofing.
That experience has taught him something important: a good roof isn't just about putting materials on a building. It's about understanding the problem, getting the details right and taking responsibility for the finished job.
Experience you can rely on
A new business with an old-fashioned work ethic
John started this company because he believes there is still a place for doing things properly.
Take pride in your work. Stand behind it. Be honest about what needs doing. Don't cut corners.
Simple principles, but ones that matter.
The company may be new.
The experience, the standards and the work ethic aren't.
John has worked across all aspects of roofing, but flat roofing has become a particular area of expertise.
Over the years, he's seen excellent workmanship, he's seen shortcuts, and he's seen the consequences of both.
That's why every job starts with understanding what actually needs doing — not simply looking for the quickest repair or the easiest sale.
If a repair is the right answer, that's what you'll be told. If a roof has reached the end of its life and replacement makes more sense, you'll be given honest advice about that too.
No scare tactics. No unnecessary work. No jargon designed to confuse you.
Just an experienced roofer giving you a straightforward assessment and doing the job properly.
Built on standards, not slogans
There are plenty of roofing companies that describe themselves as reliable, professional and trustworthy.
John would rather demonstrate those things through the way he works.
That means turning up when promised, communicating clearly, keeping you informed, respecting your property and leaving the site properly when the work is finished.
It also means treating people with respect; customers, colleagues, other trades and suppliers alike.
Because professionalism isn't just about the roof. It's about how you conduct yourself while you're working on someone's home.
